Application
Process
Once your completed application and supporting documents have been received and reviewed the co-op will conduct a credit and landlord check. Following this, you will be contacted to set a date and time for an interview.
You will be interviewed by a minimum of two members of the co-op’s Membership Selection Committee. The purpose of this interview is to get an impression of you as a potential member and for you to understand the basics of co-op living.
The interviewers will consider your willingness towards participation and your potentiality as a good member. Once the initial interview has finished, the application will be reviewed by the entire Membership Selection Committee.
After the final decision has been made, you will be notified by the staff and added to the external waiting lists.

Requirement for Potential Members
The quality of life in a co-op depends largely to the extent on how much effort the member contributes. As a co-op member, you owe it to yourself to get involved in the areas which most interests you. It means on the one hand, being a good member is to setup a friendly network with other members; while on the other hand is to make a commitment to help run the co-op and the basis of how it functions. There are a variety of ways to get involved such as serving on the Board of Directors, being an active participant and attending all General Members Meetings and so on. In the past Art Burke Housing Co-Operative has had several committees, covering a wide range of areas. Each committee contributes in some important way to our collective well-being.
Volunteerism is at the heart of Art Burke Housing Co-Operative. The organization relies heavily on members to carry out minor duties. The member involvement is what keeps the co-op viable.
